Secure Network Engineer Position

We are seeking a highly skilled and proactive Network Security Engineer to design, implement, and maintain secure network infrastructures across enterprise environments. This role is critical to ensuring the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of organizational data by defending against network-based threats and vulnerabilities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and deploy secure network architectures for on-premises, cloud, and hybrid environments, utilizing best practices in network security.
  • Configure and manage firewalls, VPNs, proxies, and network access control systems to ensure seamless and secure connectivity.
  • Monitor network traffic and security events using IDS/IPS and SIEM platforms to identify potential security breaches.
  • Conduct regular network vulnerability assessments and implement mitigation strategies to prevent attacks.
  • Collaborate with SOC and IT teams to investigate and remediate network-related incidents, ensuring minimal downtime and maximum efficiency.
  • Develop and enforce network security policies, standards, and procedures to ensure compliance and adherence to industry regulations.
  • Perform risk assessments and threat modeling for network infrastructure to identify potential vulnerabilities.
  • Ensure secure configuration and patching of routers, switches, and other network devices to prevent unauthorized access.
  • Lead network segmentation and zero-trust initiatives to reduce attack surface and enhance overall network security.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • 5–7 years of experience in network security engineering or architecture, with a strong focus on network security principles.
  • Proficiency in configuring and managing enterprise firewalls (e.g., Palo Alto, Fortinet, Cisco ASA), as well as VPN technologies (IPSec, SSL VPN) and secure remote access.
  • Strong understanding of networking protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, BGP, SNMP) and experience with IDS/IPS tools (e.g., Snort, Suricata, Cisco Firepower).
  • Familiarity with SIEM platforms (e.g., Splunk, QRadar, LogRhythm) and packet analysis tools (e.g., Wireshark, tcpdump).
  • Scripting skills in Python, PowerShell, or Bash for automation and security tasks, as well as knowledge of cloud networking and security controls (AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field, with relevant certifications such as CCNP Security, CISSP, CISM, CompTIA Security+, PCNSE.
  • Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills in complex network environments, with excellent documentation and communication skills.
Preferred Skills:
  • Experience with network access control solutions (e.g., Cisco ISE, Aruba ClearPass), as well as exposure to SOAR platforms for automated incident response.
  • Familiarity with MITRE ATT&CK framework for network threat mapping, as well as experience with compliance audits (e.g., PCI-DSS, HIPAA).
  • Knowledge of integrating threat intelligence into network defense strategies, with a strong focus on staying informed on emerging threats and vulnerabilities.
