Job Title: Academic Dean - Industrial Design

We are seeking an exceptional Academic Dean for our Industrial Design department. This is a leadership position that requires strong industry expertise and academic knowledge.

Key Responsibilities:

• Program Development: Develop and implement academic programs that align with the school's mission and vision.
• Faculty Supervision: Supervise and support faculty members in their teaching practices, research projects, and professional development.
• Curriculum Evaluation: Conduct regular evaluations of program curriculum to ensure it meets industry standards and stays relevant.
• Interdisciplinary Collaboration: Collaborate with other departments within the design school and beyond to enhance interdisciplinary learning opportunities for students.
• Student Recruitment: Oversee student recruitment efforts, working closely with the Career advancement service team.
• Department Budgeting: Plan department budget and resources effectively for discussion and approvals.
• Industry Network: Bring industry experts for various academes engagements like teaching, master class, conferences/symposiums, design festivals etc.
• Compliance: Well versed with UGC, NAAC and other processes and documentations.

Qualifications:

• Degree Requirement: Master's or Ph.D. degree in industrial design.
• Experience: Total 15+ years of experience with minimum of 5 years experience in an academic leadership role within a design school setting.
• Trends and Developments: Strong understanding of current trends and developments in the field of industrial design.
• Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage with faculty, staff, students, industry professionals, and other stakeholders.
