Job Title: Senior Property Accountant

 

Overview of Role:

The Senior Property Accountant is responsible for providing high-quality financial reporting and analytical support to property management teams.

 

Key Responsibilities:
  • Financial Reporting: Prepare accurate and compliant financial statements, leveraging industry standards.
  • Accounts Payable/Receivable: Manage accounts payable and receivable processes, ensuring timely processing of invoices and payments.
  • Budgeting and Forecasting: Collaborate in budget preparation and forecasting, offering insights to inform financial planning.
  • General Ledger Maintenance: Maintain the general ledger, including journal entries and account reconciliations.
  • Compliance: Ensure adherence to relevant financial regulations and standards specific to the real estate industry.
  • Property Management Support: Provide financial expertise and support to property management teams, enhancing property operations.
  • Software Utilization: Effectively utilize accounting software to manage financial data and generate reports.

 

Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Education:
    • Accounting or finance-related degree (Bachelor's level).
  • Experience:
    • 5+ years of experience in accounting within the real estate industry.
  • Skills:
    • Proficiency in US/UK accounting software (e.g., Yardi, Entrata).
    • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data and create meaningful reports.
    • High accuracy and attention to detail in all aspects of accounting work.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

 

Preferred Skills:
  • Knowledge of real estate accounting.
  • Experience with property management software.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
