Job Title: Software Engineering Test Specialist

We are seeking an experienced and skilled software engineer to join our team as a test specialist. In this role, you will be responsible for designing and implementing tests that expose weaknesses in storage tiering, kernel interactions, and edge cases.

You will work with our team to push systems to their limits by artificially inducing I/O storms, memory leaks, and resource starvation. Your strong scripting skills and test automation experience will be essential in building test frameworks to simulate filesystem corruption, kernel panics, and recovery scenarios.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in testing storage systems, filesystems, or cloud infrastructure. You will also have hands-on experience with Linux/Windows storage stacks and benchmarking tools (fio, vdbench), as well as familiarity with kernel debugging (strace, eBPF, WinDbg).

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and implement tests to identify weaknesses in storage tiering, kernel interactions, and edge cases
  • Collaborate with the team to develop innovative testing approaches and techniques
  • Build test frameworks to automate chaos and debug deep at the kernel, filesystem, and block device layers
  • Leverage expertise to mentor engineers in defensive thinking and establish CI/CD pipelines
Requirements:
  • 5+ years of experience in testing storage systems, filesystems, or cloud infrastructure
  • Familiarity with Linux/Windows storage stacks and benchmarking tools (fio, vdbench)
  • Strong scripting skills (Java, Python, Bash, Go) and test automation experience
  • Familiarity with kernel debugging (strace, eBPF, WinDbg)
  • Experience with cloud storage platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)
