Irrigation System Design Specialist

We are seeking a skilled expert in hydraulics and irrigation system design with a strong background in civil engineering. The candidate will be responsible for designing, analyzing, and preparing drawings for irrigation infrastructure such as dams, barrages, micro-irrigation systems, canal networks, and related hydraulic structures.

This assignment is for 6 months.

Key responsibilities and qualifications include:

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Water gem, or similar hydraulic modeling tools.
  • Designing hydraulic structures such as dams, barrages, weirs, spillways, and intake systems using standard engineering codes and software.
  • Developing micro-irrigation system layouts, pipe network designs, and hydraulic profiles for efficient water distribution.
  • Preparing hydraulic modeling, flow calculations, and hydraulic grade line diagrams for irrigation and water management projects.
  • Developing detailed drawings, BOQs, and technical specifications using AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or equivalent design tools.
  • Coordinating with cross-functional teams including survey, GIS, and geotechnical teams for integrated designs.
  • Supporting the preparation of DPRs (Detailed Project Reports).
  • Participating in client meetings, site visits, and review discussions with stakeholders.

The ideal candidate should have a bachelor's or master's degree in civil engineering with specialization in Hydraulics or Water Resources Engineering. Strong knowledge of hydraulic principles, irrigation techniques, flow analysis, and pipe hydraulics is essential. Proficiency in project management and coordination is also required.
