Purchase Supervisor Job Description
The ideal candidate for this role should have experience in the execution of large-scale manufacturing projects at vendor sites. This includes exposure to vendor development, assessment, ordering of castings and forgings, and handling procurement activities for gearbox and hydraulic systems.
Key responsibilities include traveling to vendors for on-site activities, negotiating prices for rotary equipment, and possessing knowledge of fabrication processes, machining of large equipment, and ERP systems like SAP. Additionally, the candidate should be familiar with non-destructive testing (NDT) processes required for castings, forgings, and fabricated items, as well as experience with import and export activities, contract management, commercial terms and conditions, and outsourcing activities.
This role requires a deep understanding of procurement processes and the ability to work effectively with vendors to achieve business objectives. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery of goods and services while maintaining high levels of quality and customer satisfaction.
