Job Description:

 

  • An Information Security Specialist will be responsible for tracking and analyzing vulnerabilities in our systems to ensure the security of our IT infrastructure.
  • This role involves reviewing and analyzing vulnerabilities listed on security portals and service management tools, identifying necessary fixes, and determining vendor responsibilities.
  • A centralized system will be maintained to track open vulnerabilities and remediation status, ensuring timely completion with minimal disruption.
  • Coordinated efforts will be made with vendors to discuss and plan the application of fixes, typically starting in a test environment, and support will be provided during production deployment.
  • Rollback protection will be ensured through coordination of virtual machine snapshots before interventions and facilitating fix applications in production environments.
  • All remediation steps, communications, and outcomes will be documented, providing regular updates and reports to senior management on vulnerability status and resolution progress.
  • The specialist will participate in weekly and monthly reviews to ensure alignment and strategic planning.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Vendor Coordination: Coordinate with vendors to discuss and plan the application of fixes.
  • Intervention Planning: Plan interventions with T-Systems and confirm snapshot creation for rollback capability.
  • Remediation Execution: Execute remediation activities in production environments, ensuring timely completion with minimal disruption.
  • Documentation & Reporting: Document all remediation steps, communications, and outcomes, providing regular updates and reports to senior management.
  • Security Operations Lead Roles and Responsibilities: Maintain a centralized tracking system for all open vulnerabilities and remediation status.
