Senior Cybersecurity Specialist

We are seeking a seasoned security expert to assume a pivotal role in guiding the strategic development and execution of our Microsoft Security Go-to-Market within an aligned industry vertical.

This critical position involves elevating our security credibility across key industries, driving strategic customer outcomes, and strengthening our position as a trusted partner to Microsoft and the market:

1. Secure high-value customer wins and develop compelling case studies that showcase our vertical-specific security expertise
2. Improve alignment and reputation with Microsoft's industry teams, resulting in increased lead flow and deeper strategic collaboration
3. Influence the development and positioning of security capabilities that resonate with vertical-specific needs and regulatory requirements
4. Elevate our market presence through thought leadership, contributing to webinars, white papers, and industry events that build trust and demand
5. Empower internal teams by providing strategic guidance, mentoring, and enablement that improve execution across sales, presales, and solution teams

Key Responsibilities:

Engage Strategically with Customers

1. Act as a trusted security advisor in your assigned vertical, participating in high-value customer engagement
2. Lead and contribute to executive briefings, discovery sessions, proposals, and strategic account planning
3. Ensure visibility and utilization across major deals by proactively engaging with account teams and stakeholders
4. Support the development of customer case studies and success stories that demonstrate impact and innovation

Drive Thought Leadership and Market Influence

1. Represent our security expertise at industry events, webinars, and forums, elevating our brand and credibility
2. Author white papers and contribute to vertical-specific content that showcases best practices and emerging trends
3. Collaborate with marketing and enablement teams to amplify thought leadership and support broader awareness
4. Build relationships with Microsoft's industry teams to improve alignment and drive joint opportunities

Shape and Align Security Capabilities

1. Provide feedback and guidance to internal teams to ensure offerings align with vertical-specific security needs and regulatory requirements
2. Influence the development of new capabilities and services based on customer insights and market dynamics
3. Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure consistent messaging and effective positioning of security solutions
4. Contribute to internal planning and governance processes to drive accountability and strategic alignment

Requirements:

For this challenging role, we seek a highly skilled candidate who possesses a unique blend of technical acumen, business savvy, and exceptional interpersonal skills. The ideal candidate will have:

1. A Computer Science or Information Technology degree or equivalent industry experience
2. Minimum 10 years of experience in cybersecurity, including roles such as senior security architect, strategist, or CISO, with deep expertise in vertical-specific requirements (e.g., HIPAA, PCI-DSS, FFIEC)
3. Proven success in shaping and executing security strategies and initiatives that drive measurable business outcomes in FinServ, Healthcare, or Retail
4. Strong executive communication and facilitation skills, with experience leading workshops, building consensus, and influencing senior stakeholders
5. Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional engagements, drive alignment, and proactively contribute to strategic opportunities
6. Familiarity with Generative AI (e.g., Copilot, Gemini) and its implications for security, governance, and risk management
7. Experience with agile methodologies, design thinking, and collaborative solution development
8. Ability to conduct market research and translate insights into actionable security strategies and content
9. Strong collaboration, influencing, and negotiation skills, with a relentless focus on customer success
10. Enjoyment from working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment where initiative and assertiveness are key

The successful candidate will enjoy minimal travel, approximately one to two trips to the US per year, and will be empowered to make a meaningful impact in their work.
