Building Management System (BMS) Hardware Architect

The successful candidate will be an architect in designing and developing Building Management System (BMS) hardware for a Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) domain. The role involves exposure to cutting-edge designing, layout, compliance, Electromagnetic Interference (EMI) / Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) aspects.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Designing and delivering high-quality BMS HW systems on-time.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to provide solutions to complex use cases.
  • Ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, such as UL9540/UL1973/IEC62619/IEC 60730.
  • Developing expertise in Power Electronics concepts, Digital circuit design, Analog circuit design, ADC, DACs, OP Amps, Micro-processors, Micro-controllers & DSPs.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • 12 - 14 years of experience in the field.
  • Demonstrated experience developing BMS for energy storage/ESS.
  • Rich hands-on experience in architecting Power Electronics concepts for BMS.
  • Strong design knowledge of Digital circuit design, Analog circuit design, ADC, DACs, OP Amps, Micro-processors, Micro-controllers & DSPs.
  • Knowledge of Regulatory requirements for Li-ion batteries for Energy storage application.
  • Knowledge of PCB layout constraints.
  • Knowledge and demonstrated experience with Analog Front End circuit design for Li-ion batteries.
  • Knowledge and demonstrated experience using simulation tools (e.g., P-Spice, Matlab, Mathcad).
  • Experience with FMEA and Root Cause Analysis.
  • Experience working with various Sensing Technologies.
  • Experience working with hardware peripherals and communication ckt design.
  • Experience in Power Supply Design.
  • Experience working with MOSFET driving.

Preferred Skills:

  • Knowledge of Safety Regulatory standards like IEC61508, ISO26262 when building HW designs.
  • Experience with Contactors and Relays.
  • Working knowledge of safety-critical features like charge control, thermal control, fault detection, and diagnostics for battery and energy products.
