Offshore Structural Engineering Expert

The successful candidate will have a proven track record of delivering structural analyses and assessments for offshore jacket structures. They will be responsible for developing and maintaining Bases of Assessment documents, managing weight databases, and publishing Annual Weight Analysis reports.

The role involves leading structural risk management efforts to ensure risks are understood, controlled, and mitigated effectively. This includes approving platform modifications and associated weight changes, maintaining as-designed and as-is structural models, and supporting severe weather evacuation planning and post-event inspections.

The ideal candidate will provide visible safety leadership and promote a safety culture within the team. They will support the development and mentoring of junior engineers, helping them achieve professional certifications.

This is a key position that requires collaboration with central engineering teams to ensure consistency across regions. The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills and the ability to influence senior leadership and collaborate across functions.

  • 15+ years of experience in offshore structures design, analysis, construction, installation, or integrity management
  • Proficient with SESAM GeniE, USFOS, Abaqus, STAAD Pro, and Navisworks for structural analysis and modeling
  • Strong knowledge of industry standards (ISO 19900 series, API 2A-WSD, AISC WSD) and class rules (ABS, DNV, BV)

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with integrity management, inspection data analysis, fitness-for-service, and repair strategies
  • Familiarity with risk-based inspection and anomaly management
  • Knowledge of Agile working principles and tools
