Accounting Support Role

This position is responsible for assisting the Accounting department in producing accurate and timely financial statements. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting principles and be proficient in financial software systems.

The role involves preparing and recording detailed AP, AR, and other general accounting transactions. Additionally, the individual will review and approve POs and invoices in Nexonia, process weekly check runs for vendor payments, and initiate wire requests.

The selected candidate will also be responsible for requesting and maintaining W-9/W-8 information for vendors and recording new vendor information into NetSuite. Furthermore, they will create necessary AP accrual journal entries and monthly dererral entries, coordinate 1099 filings, and prepare AP and other Accounting documents requested for audit.

In addition to these responsibilities, the individual will ensure the accuracy of Fixed Assets additions & retirements, maintain the Fixed Assets Module, verify that all assets are depreciated monthly, and verify that monthly depreciation journal entries are accurate. They will also create all necessary retirement entries.

Furthermore, the Accounting Support Specialist will be responsible for ensuring government filings and business renewals are filed on time, maintaining Business Filings documents, and working with tax consultants. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance, 3-5 years of accounting experience, and hands-on experience in month-end and year-end close processes, account reconciliations, and financial audit.
