Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Kafka Admin to manage, maintain, and optimize our Kafka clusters. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Linux administration, scripting, and managing large-scale production environments. Experience with AWS, CI/CD pipelines, and observability tools is essential to ensure the smooth operation and scalability of our Kafka infrastructure.
Responsibilities:
Manage and maintain Kafka clusters in production environments.
Monitor and optimize Kafka performance to ensure reliability and scalability.
Develop and maintain automation scripts using Shell and Python to streamline operations and tasks.
Perform Linux administration tasks, including server setup, configuration, and troubleshooting.
Manage large-scale production workloads with a focus on availability, performance, and security.
Collaborate with the DevOps and Engineering teams to integrate Kafka with CI/CD pipelines.
Implement and manage observability tools such as New Relic, Prometheus, and Grafana for monitoring and alerting.
Ensure smooth Kafka operations within AWS environments, leveraging cloud infrastructure to meet business needs.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
3+ years of experience managing and administering Kafka clusters.
Proficiency in scripting languages such as Shell and Python for automation.
Strong experience in Linux administration and troubleshooting.
Proven experience managing large-scale production environments with Kafka.
Familiarity with CI/CD technologies and hands-on experience with observability tools like New Relic, Prometheus, and Grafana.
Hands-on experience working with AWS environments and cloud technologies.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with disaster recovery and Kafka security.
Knowledge of Kafka stream processing and Kafka Connect.
Familiarity with containerization tools such as Docker and Kubernetes
