The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, deploying, and managing Kafka clusters in a production environment, ensuring high availability, scalability, and reliability. They will collaborate with engineering teams to understand data processing requirements and design Kafka solutions that meet their needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, deploy, and manage Kafka clusters in a production environment.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to understand data processing requirements.
  • Optimize Kafka configurations and performance.
  • Develop and maintain Kafka-related tools, utilities, and automation scripts.
  • Provide guidance and best practices on Kafka usage, data modelling, and integration patterns.
  • Work closely with operations teams to monitor Kafka clusters, troubleshoot issues, and perform capacity planning.

Requirements:

To be considered for this role, you should have an in-depth understanding of Kafka architecture, including brokers, topics, partitions, producers, consumers, and replication. You should also have knowledge of Kafka distributed nature, fault tolerance, scalability, and high availability.

In addition, you should have experience with streaming data processing frameworks like Apache Flink, Apache Spark Streaming, or Kafka Streams. Knowledge of containerization and orchestration technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes is also required. Experience with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform is a plus.

You should also have relevant certifications such as Confluent Certified Developer or Confluent Certified Administrator. Very good knowledge of database technology for both NoSQL DB and SQL DB is essential, with working experience with in-memory DB like Couchbase being an advantage.
