Senior Big Data Engineer Job Description

We are seeking a seasoned Big Data Engineer to spearhead our data engineering efforts. This is an exciting opportunity to drive innovation and tackle complex technical challenges for large-scale enterprises undergoing transformation.

Job Requirements
  • Led distributed teams across multiple geographies and time zones, ensuring seamless collaboration and effective management.
  • Managed cross-team collaboration with architects, product managers, and operations, fostering strong communication skills.
  • Developed expertise in Apache Spark (batch & streaming), Scala, and Python, driving efficient data processing and analytics.
  • Migrated HDFS infrastructure using migration strategies, leveraging deep knowledge of internals.
  • Designed and implemented data pipelines using Apache Iceberg, Delta Lake, and Apache Hudi, ensuring schema evolution, ACID transactions, and time travel capabilities.
  • Deployed Spark and Flink jobs on Kubernetes, utilizing the Spark-on-K8s operator and Flink-on-K8s.
  • Experience with Ceph and AWS S3 storage solutions, building scalable ingestion, transformation, and enrichment pipelines.
  • Provisioned data infrastructure using Terraform and Helm, streamlining infrastructure-as-Code.
