Job Title

Lead Product and Mechanical Design Engineer is a pivotal role that oversees the complete lifecycle of mechanical product design, from conception to production. This highly skilled professional takes full ownership of designing multi-gas sensor products, ensuring they meet market requirements.

Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with customers to understand their needs and those of their end customers, incorporating this feedback into product designs.
  • Design entire sensor systems, encompassing components such as housings, gas flow architecture, simulation chambers, control units, and portable instruments.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams including electronics, materials, and compliance to ensure seamless product integration.
  • Optimize designs for manufacturability, performance, and cost across diverse environmental conditions.
  • Conduct simulations, tolerance analysis, and failure assessments to validate product reliability.
  • Select materials and finishes compatible with gas sensing applications.
  • Support regulatory documentation and interface with suppliers to drive product rollout from concept to full-scale manufacturing.
Requirements
  • 5–8 years of experience in mechanical or product design.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Product Design.
  • Experience as a member of a Formula One Student Team is a must.
  • Strong aesthetic sense, including color, geometry, and simplicity.
  • Expertise in CAD tools: SolidWorks, Solid Edge, Fusion 360, Inventor, CATIA.
  • Experience with injection moulding and CNC-based metallic enclosures.
  • Knowledge of NPT, BSP, BSPT threads and machined fittings.
  • Understanding of FDM/SLA additive manufacturing and CNC basics (laser/milling).
  • Strong grasp of DFM principles and product rollout lifecycle.
