Senior Database Developer Position

We seek an experienced database developer with a strong background in database design, development, and administration.

Key Responsibilities
  • Database Development:
    • Design, develop, and implement scalable database schemas, tables, views, stored procedures, functions, and triggers.
    • Collaborate with application development teams to translate data requirements into efficient database designs.
    • Perform data modeling and create ER diagrams.
  • Performance Tuning & Optimization:
    • Optimize complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and troubleshoot performance bottlenecks.
    • Implement indexing strategies and query optimization techniques.
    • Monitor database performance metrics and proactively resolve issues.
  • Database Administration & Maintenance:
    • Manage backups, recovery, and disaster recovery plans for MySQL and MS SQL.
    • Ensure database security, access control, and data integrity.
    • Handle patching, upgrades, and migrations.
    • Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues.
  • Data Integration & ETL:
    • Develop and maintain ETL processes for system-to-system data integration.
    • Implement data warehousing solutions for reporting and analytics.
  • Mentorship & Collaboration:
    • Provide technical guidance to junior developers.
    • Conduct code reviews and enforce best practices.
    • Collaborate effectively with cross-functional stakeholders.
    Required Skills & Qualifications
    • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
    • 6–7 years of proven experience as a Database Developer (MySQL & MS SQL).
    • Expert-level SQL programming (T-SQL, PL/SQL).
    • Strong knowledge of database design, data modeling, and normalization.
    • Experience with performance tuning and large-scale database optimization.
    • Proficiency in administration tasks (backup, recovery, security, replication).
    • Hands-on experience with ETL tools and data integration.
    • Familiarity with version control (e.g., Git).
    • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
    Preferred Qualifications
    • Experience with cloud database services (AWS RDS, Azure SQL Database).
    • Knowledge of additional databases (PostgreSQL, Oracle).

Experience with scripting languages (Python, PowerShell) for automation is a plus.
