Senior Staff Engineer Role

The position involves developing complex SoC/chip architectures with multi-core, multi-threaded processor subsystems, AI accelerators, interconnects, memory architecture, and multi-level caches. The chosen candidate will contribute to and manage a team for the development of architecture, microarchitecture, and design of SoCs which include RISC-V, ARM, or proprietary processor designs, and high-speed interfaces for off-chip memories, along with the integration of wireless systems, power management, and mixed-signal IP.

The candidate will lead a project through the entire product development process, from definition to execution and production. Responsibilities include:

  • Developing and executing Wireless SoCs from definition to production
  • Defining and planning projects
  • Coordinating with product marketing teams to develop SoC requirements
  • Maintaining SoC architecture or technical specifications to meet product requirements
  • Developing design schedules, including milestones and resource requirements

The candidate will also perform SoC design integration, maintain design collateral, and follow established quality procedures and processes to achieve first tapeout.

Validation and production responsibilities include actively supporting validation and product test teams during silicon bringup, validation, characterization, and qualification, as well as triaging, tracking, and resolving issues reported during silicon evaluation.

This role requires 12+ years of industry experience and a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering. Desired skills and qualifications include:

  • Leading complex IP and SOC development projects
  • Top-down planning and execution of SOC projects
  • Full-chip development cycle experience
  • Building strong technical teams
  • Architecture, micro-architecture, digital design processes expertise
  • Knowledge of high-speed interfaces like USB, PCIe, Ethernet, Mobile DDR, Quad/Octa-SPI
  • Processor knowledge, including RISC-V and ARM processors
  • Design signoff flows expertise, including Lint, CDC, Formal Verification, Synthesis, Constraints, and STA Timing Closure
  • DFT expertise, including Scan, ATPG, MBIST
  • Low-power design methodology expertise
  • Hardware accelerator knowledge
  • Verilog and System Verilog expertise
  • Scripting language proficiency, including Perl, Python, Tcl, shell
