Linux Server Administrator Job Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled and proactive Linux Server Administrator to join our organization. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on expertise in managing Linux-based environments, including server lifecycle operations, hypervisor platforms, automation tools, and basic cloud integration.

  • The successful applicant will be responsible for delivering Level 3 technical support for Linux server environments, ensuring compliance with customer SLAs.
  • Daily compute operations will include incident management, service requests, change requests, and root cause analysis, aligned with ITIL processes.
  • Server lifecycle management involves installation, configuration, maintenance, monitoring, and decommissioning (physical and virtual servers).
  • Performance testing, system tuning, and troubleshooting for server-related issues will be essential during outages or degradation.
  • Storage operations using NetApp NFS will be managed by the appointed candidate.
  • OS image maintenance, patch management (e.g., via BladeLogic Automation), and repository/package management will also be key responsibilities.
  • Server monitoring and alerts will be configured and rolled out.
  • Infrastructure services, solutions, and procedures will be documented, with quality assurance and knowledge transfer performed.
Required Skills & Experience:
  • A minimum of 5 years experience with Linux OS operations and server administration (physical and virtual) is required.
  • Proficiency in hypervisor technologies, especially XEN and VMware, is essential.
  • In-depth knowledge of LVM, DNS, LDAP, and IPTables is necessary.
  • Experience with server monitoring tools, performance tuning, and root cause analysis is crucial.
  • Associate-level understanding of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) is desired.
  • Familiarity with automation tools (e.g., Chef) and scripting languages (e.g., Bash, Perl) is preferred.
