Senior Intellectual Property Executive

We are seeking a seasoned expert to lead our intellectual property strategy. This key position will report directly to the Head of Intellectual Property and be responsible for developing and managing our growing portfolio.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement effective IP processes to ensure timely protection of our assets and safeguard third-party partner interests.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify products for introduction into the development pipeline, design and execute strategic product development plans, and assess patentability of inventions under review.
  • Draft patents, freedom-to-operate reports, infringement and validity analyses, risk assessments, and mitigation strategies, and file and prosecute inventive solutions to build significant intellectual property wealth.
  • Monitor and evaluate third-party scientific and patent publications, provide IP-related inputs to support legal agreements and negotiations, and manage patent, trademark, copyright, and related issues.
  • Maintain accurate records of our inventions, know-how, trade secrets, and registered intellectual property, and educate management and scientists on current best practices for protecting inventions and intellectual property.
Requirements
  • PhD or Post-graduate degree in Chemistry, Biology, Biotechnology, Sciences, or Pharmaceutical Sciences.
  • Desirable additional specialization in Intellectual Property.
  • A minimum of 13+ years' work experience in a global pharmaceutical company with team-handling skills.
  • Experience in product IP clearances, patent drafting, and prosecution, as well as ancillary areas within a pharmaceutical organization.
  • Litigation, litigation support, and licensing experience are highly desirable.
  • Excellent organizational, attention to detail, and teamwork capabilities, with ability to work effectively in a deadline-driven environment.
  • Fluency in English, both written and spoken.
