AXA XL is seeking an experienced Underwriting Manager to lead our India Reinsurance Branch. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing underwriting strategies, managing risk exposure, and driving profitable growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement underwriting strategies to ensure sound underwriting practices and manage risk exposure.
- Oversee the underwriting process and ensure adherence to underwriting guidelines and regulatory requirements.
- Manage risk exposure by evaluating and pricing insurance policies appropriately.
- Lead and mentor underwriting teams, providing guidance and training to ensure high performance and development.
- Work closely with product heads in Asia to leverage expertise, drive business growth, and innovation.
- Monitor underwriting results and performance, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions.
- Stay updated on industry trends, market conditions, and regulatory changes to inform underwriting decisions and strategies.
- Foster strong relationships with reinsurance partners and underwriting agencies to optimize risk management and capacity.
- Drive growth through effective planning and execution, identifying new markets and further developing existing markets.
Requirements
- Established Underwriter with proven experience in underwriting leadership within the insurance industry.
- In-depth knowledge of regulatory requirements and compliance standards.
- Leadership: Role model by setting a high bar for performance, engagement, and commitment. Well-experienced in managing a team.
- Excellent verbal and written communication and influencing skills. Able to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders at all levels of sophistication.
- Collaborative: Ability to develop and maintain productive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders in country, Asia, and the Business Unit.
