Heavy Erection Site Supervisor

About the Role

The Heavy Erection Site Supervisor will oversee and manage heavy structural erection and installation works at the project site. This role requires strong technical expertise in handling heavy steel structures, equipment erection, alignment, and commissioning while ensuring safety, quality, and timely execution of the project.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and execute erection of heavy structures, equipment, and fabricated assemblies as per drawings and specifications.
  • Plan and monitor lifting operations, rigging activities, and heavy equipment handling using cranes and other lifting devices.
  • Ensure proper alignment, levelling, grouting, and bolting welding of erected structures and machinery.
  • Prepare and maintain daily site progress reports, manpower deployment, and activity logs.
  • Coordinate with project managers, design teams, contractors, and safety officers for smooth project execution.
  • Conduct inspection of fabricated parts, assemblies, and equipment before erection.
  • Ensure strict adherence to safety standards, method statements, and erection procedures.
  • Monitor and control usage of manpower, machinery, and material to achieve productivity and avoid delays.
  • Resolve on-site technical issues and provide solutions to minimize downtime.
  • Assist in preparing work schedules, erection sequences, and lifting plans.
Required Skills & Qualifications
  • Familiarity with heavy structural erection, rigging, and lifting techniques.
  • Ability to read and interpret fabrication drawings, GA drawings, and erection drawings.
  • Strong knowledge of welding, bolting, and alignment practices.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Good understanding of crane operations, load charts, and lifting plans.
  • Diploma or B Tech in Mechanical or Civil Engineering.
  • 2-4 years of experience in heavy erection, fabrication industry, power plants, steel plants, oil, gas, infrastructure, or similar projects.
  • Experience in structural erection, heavy equipment erection, and rigging is mandatory.
