Job Title

Vernacular Outreach Coordinator:

The primary goal of this position is to facilitate the dissemination of content in vernacular languages, ensuring effective communication with diverse audiences.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Translate English content into vernacular languages for various mediums, including websites, social media platforms, news releases, and other outreach materials.
  • Coordinate with freelance translators and proofreaders to ensure timely and accurate delivery of multilingual campaign content.
  • Manage and maintain vernacular language websites, uploading content according to standard operating procedures and ensuring regular updates with the latest campaign news and resources.
  • Support content development and management of regional social media platforms, including responding to followers with approved replies.
  • Collaborate with the Online and Campaigns teams to create and adapt vernacular creatives for social media use.
  • Stay informed about ongoing and upcoming campaigns to ensure consistency and accuracy across all vernacular content.
  • Maintain a positive, professional mindset.
  • Meet assigned deadlines with efficiency and accuracy.
  • Apply a strong understanding of animal rights and PETA India's mission to all translation and coordination work.
Requirements:
  • Minimum two years of practical experience in translation from English to vernacular languages.
  • Strong coordination skills, with the ability to manage a team of freelance translators and liaise with internal departments.
  • Excellent translation skills and verbal communication skills in both English and vernacular languages.
  • Strong understanding of social media trends and engagement practices.
  • Experience with website and social media content management is a plus.
  • Proficiency in computer applications.
  • Strong time-management, organisational skills, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to perform well under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Strong alignment with PETA India's philosophy and the ability to advocate its positions respectfully and effectively.
