Database Management Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Database Management Specialist to join our team at Synoriq. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining our database systems to ensure high levels of performance, availability, security, and encryption.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and maintain all aspects of our database systems, including problem investigation and resolution, backup creation and maintenance, database optimization and tuning, and more.
  • Ensure high levels of performance, availability, security, and encryption.
  • Enhance and automate reports to provide valuable insights into our database systems.
  • Automate routine database maintenance tasks, such as backups, index management, and performance tuning.
  • Analyze and maintain performance and capacity needs, and implement automated monitoring and alerting systems to ensure database health.
  • Develop, manage, and test database and information system backup and recovery plans.
  • Migrate data between relational databases.
  • Track database changes, incidents, and ensure proper documentation for audit purposes.
  • Implement and manage user access controls to ensure data security and compliance with company policies.
  • Regularly review access privileges and perform database security audits.
  • Create database patches using complex queries.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for database configurations, processes, and troubleshooting guides.
  • Develop and enforce database best practices and standards.
  • Establish best practices for a growing team of SQL Developers/Analysts.
  • Use data modeling approaches to ensure integration and performance goals are fulfilled and to provide future flexibility to accommodate shifting business requirements.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience with core concepts of SQL, with the ability to write efficient and optimized queries.
  • Hands-on experience with database management tools and automation scripts.
  • Experience in database security auditing and access management.
  • Familiarity with cloud-based database solutions (e.g. AWS).
  • Understanding of database/scripting languages.
  • Experience of Backup and recovery process.
  • Experience in managing database development/integration/migration projects.
  • Experience with performance tuning of complex SQL queries.
  • Experience in identifying areas where data can be used to improve organizational activities, proposing and implementing innovative data solutions.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills, along with excellent organizational skills and attention to details.
  • Good understanding of MS Office suite or related software.
  • Worked across both qualitative and quantitative analysis areas.
  • Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to dig deep into server metrics to identify root causes of performance issues.
