Overview


We are seeking a talented and motivated Database Administrator to join our team at Synoriq. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, excellent troubleshooting skills, and the ability to dig deep into database metrics to identify causes of performance issues and implement effective solutions.



Responsibilities



  • Database Management
  • Manage, maintain, and monitor all aspects of our database systems, including problem investigation and resolution, backup creation and maintenance, database optimization and tuning, etc.
  • Ensure high levels of performance, availability, security, and encryption.
  • Performance Tuning
  • Enhance and automate reports and routine database maintenance tasks, such as backups, index management, and performance tuning.
  • Capacity Planning
  • Analyze and maintain performance and capacity needs. Implement automated monitoring and alerting systems to ensure database health.
  • User Access Control
  • Implement and manage user access controls, ensuring data security and compliance with company policies.
  • Database Security Audits
  • Regularly review access privileges and perform database security audits.
  • Database Documentation
  • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for database configurations, processes, and troubleshooting guides.
  • Leadership Initiatives
  • Develop and enforce database best practices and standards. Establish best practices for a growing team of SQL Developers/Analysts.

Requirements



  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience with core concepts of SQL, with the ability to write efficient and optimized queries.
  • Hands-on experience with database management tools and automation scripts.
  • Experience in database security auditing and access management.
  • Familiarity with cloud-based database solutions (e.g., AWS).
  • Understanding of database/scripting languages.
  • Experience in managing database development/integration/migration projects.
  • Experience in performance tuning of complex SQL queries.
  • Experience in identifying areas where data can be used to improve organizational activities.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills, along with excellent organizational skills and attention to details.
  • Good understanding of MS Office suite or related software.
  • Worked across both qualitative and quantitative analysis areas.
  • Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills with the ability to dig deep into server metrics to identify root causes of performance issues.
