This role oversees IT project portfolio governance, enforces frameworks, and ensures successful execution of all IT projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accountable for the IT Portfolio processes, including IT planning, portfolio governance, project methodology framework, and resource capacity management.
  • Implement project management standards and practices across the IT project portfolio.
  • Supervise and mentor the project management team, providing performance reviews, career growth opportunities, and training.
  • Create and maintain staffing plans for internal and external resources, recommending contractors or full-time additions as needed.
  • Analyse project proposals to determine timelines, funding, and required processes.
  • Provide leadership and motivation to project teams throughout all phases.
  • Implement effective project communication, including steering committee meetings and status reports.
  • Manage project risks and issues, implementing mitigation strategies.
  • Align project goals with business objectives, ensuring timely delivery within budget.
  • Employ agile/scrum methodologies within the organization's SDLC framework.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or related field.
  • Minimum 7+ years' experience in project management of complex IT projects.
  • Deep understanding of agile frameworks (Scrum, SAFe, Disciplined Agile, etc.).
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
  • Background in Business Analysis.
  • Proven experience managing an IT Portfolio or PMO.
  • Prior team leadership/supervisory experience.
  • Experience managing external vendors and contract staff.
  • Strong leadership, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, engaging both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Demonstrated ability to set and meet goals, define schedules, allocate resources, and implement processes.
  • Ability to navigate ambiguity and bring clarity to teams.
  • Experience in software product development life cycles is mandatory.
  • Experience in the banking or financial services domain is required.
