Key Responsibilities:

  • We are seeking an experienced Database Architecture Specialist to design and implement high-performance database architectures using PostgreSQL, ensuring optimal data management and scalability.
  • This role will involve developing and maintaining robust backup and recovery strategies, leveraging tools like pgBackRest and Barman to minimize downtime.
  • The successful candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration with cloud services, including AWS RDS and Aurora.
  • Maintaining and optimizing database security and compliance is crucial for this position, adhering to industry best practices and regulations.
  • Analyze and troubleshoot complex database issues, utilizing advanced tools and procedures to resolve critical incidents.

In addition to the primary responsibilities, this role will also involve secondary duties as a MySQL DBA, including managing backups, users, roles, and permissions, as well as setting up and troubleshooting replication.

Requirements:
  • A minimum of 7 years of hands-on experience with PostgreSQL, with a strong understanding of its internals, architecture, and tuning.
  • Experience with HA and replication solutions, such as Patroni and repmgr.
  • Proficiency in Linux/Unix environments, shell scripting, and automation.
  • Solid understanding of database security and compliance best practices.
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills and experience handling critical incidents.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Strong hands-on experience with AWS PostgreSQL services, including parameter groups, snapshot management, performance insights, and multi-AZ failover.
  • Familiarity with cloud-managed PostgreSQL services and connection pooling/proxy tools.
  • Good communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a 24x7 production support environment.
