Job Summary

We seek an experienced technical professional to oversee day-to-day operations of vessels ensuring their seaworthiness and compliance with international regulations.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in marine engineering with at least 10 years of experience in the shipping industry including 2 years as a Chief Engineer. Preferably they will also have 2 years of shore-based experience as a Superintendent.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Oversee daily technical operations monitoring vessel reports and analyzing performance/defects to ensure prompt and effective closures.
  2. Track PMS compliance and authenticity proposing improvements to databases and systems.
  3. Prepare annual operating budgets and control costs maintaining validity of all certification and documentation.
  4. Coordinate procurement of spares and critical equipment implementing cost-effective options.
  5. Plan and supervise dry-docking repairs and technical projects ensuring quality control and cost control.
  6. Support onboard crew with technical guidance and training conducting periodic physical inspections of vessels.
Requirements
  • Chief Engineer certification
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in the shipping industry
  • 2 years of experience as a Chief Engineer
  • Preferably 2 years of shore-based experience as a Superintendent
  • Strong understanding of TMSA and Rightship requirements
  • Experience working on cranes and grabs for bulk carriers
  • ME engine experience preferred
