Job Overview:

The Steel Melting Shop Manager is responsible for overseeing the efficient, safe, and cost-effective operations of the melting shop. This includes monitoring and controlling induction furnace and electric arc furnace operations, supervising tapping, ladle refining, and casting operations, as well as maintaining process parameters to achieve targeted quality and yield.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and control EAF and IF operations to ensure optimal charge mix and melting cycle time
  • Supervise tapping, ladle refining, and casting operations to maintain process parameters
  • Implement daily and weekly production schedules according to dispatch and inventory requirements
  • Collaborate with the quality department for testing, analysis, and corrective actions
  • Analyze deviations and implement corrective preventive actions (CAPA)
  • Ensure compliance with plant safety and environmental regulations
  • Conduct toolbox talks, promote safe practices, and participate in audits
  • Implement safety recommendations effectively
  • Supervise, train, and guide operators, shift technicians, and support staff

Requirements:

  • In-depth knowledge of steel melting processes, EAF, IF, LRF, and CCM
  • Strong metallurgical knowledge and process control expertise
  • Familiarity with refractory management and slag practices
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Effective communication and leadership skills

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Metallurgy or related field
  • Diploma in Metallurgy is preferred

Experience: 5-10 years of relevant experience in Steel Melting Shop operations is mandatory. 8 years of experience is preferred.
