Job Title: Cyber Security Engineer

Cyber security engineers are highly skilled professionals who play a vital role in safeguarding systems, networks, and data from internal and external threats. They design and implement security solutions, monitor for vulnerabilities, and respond to incidents to ensure the highest levels of system integrity and data protection.

Responsibilities:

  • The cyber security engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, and managing security tools and infrastructure to protect against cyber threats.
  • Monitoring systems and networks for potential security breaches and investigating violations is another key responsibility.
  • Vulnerability assessments, penetration testing, and risk analysis are essential skills required for this position.
  • The cyber security engineer must be able to respond to security incidents and lead incident response activities, including root cause analysis and remediation.
  • Ensuring that systems, applications, and network configurations comply with internal security policies and regulatory requirements (e.g., ISO 27001) is crucial.
  • Collaboration with IT teams to implement security best practices and secure SDLC is also an important aspect of this job.
  • Managing firewalls, antivirus, EDR, SIEM, DLP, and IDS/IPS tools is another responsibility.
  • Maintaining documentation related to security architecture, incidents, and processes is essential.

Qualifications:

  • A bachelor's degree in cyber security, information technology, computer science, or a related field is required.
  • Solid understanding of firewalls, IDS/IPS, VPNs, proxies, and endpoint protection is necessary.
  • Proficiency with SIEM platforms and vulnerability scanners is also required.
  • Experience with scripting or automation is beneficial.
  • Strong understanding of network and web-related protocols is essential.
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks such as NIST or CIS is also necessary.
