About the Team
The team responsible for performing audits of inventories identifies and resolves shrinkage caused by various reasons. The specialist conducting these audits is known as an inventory auditor.
Job Summary:
- The primary purpose of this role is to perform audits of inventories and identify and resolve shrinkage caused by various reasons.
- Auditors perform audits of stores or distribution centers after the US team completes physical inventory audits every week.
- Inventory managers update the system with their findings, and auditors extract reports and access systems to obtain necessary data for the audit.
Key Responsibilities
- Auditors must understand store/distribution center audit processes and be proficient in completing audits with minimal direction within 6 months of joining the team.
- Auditors should have a good understanding of the impacts of RQA and ICB adjustments on audit results.
- Auditors should research and investigate focus items in stores, updating the relevant document with relevant comments.
- Auditors should follow procedures laid out for investigating focus items and making required adjustments to store inventory.
- Auditors are responsible for conducting audits from start to end, including sending introductory emails and performing closeouts.
- Auditors should quickly escalate issues or clarifications to seniors/leads during audits.
- Auditors must complete assigned audits within 2 weeks (90%) or 3 weeks (100%); the match date is used as a reference point.
Requirements
- 4-6 years of work experience in retail business; accounting background preferred.
- Bachelor's degree.
- Primary skills: good communication and articulation skills, knowledge of inventory audits/AP corrections/shrinkage/database, and proficiency in Excel.
- Secondary skills: knowledge of retail operations, experience with inventory audits or database, and understanding of shrinkage reduction, purchase order corrections, and impact of incorrect entries in store systems.
Additional Notes
Auditors must be proactive in approaching store teams, obtaining rectification, and closing audits accurately.
The auditor should be able to visualize and make judgments about store processes to perform audits effectively.
