Container Infrastructure Expert

A Container Infrastructure Expert is responsible for designing, deploying, and maintaining a robust, scalable, and secure internal Kubernetes platform. This expert ensures the smooth operation of containerized applications and collaborates with cross-functional teams to deliver solutions on time, within budget, and meeting business requirements.

• Design and develop a robust, scalable, and secure internal Kubernetes platform that supports the deployment, scaling, and management of containerized applications.
• Develop and maintain automation scripts, tools, and documentation to streamline deployment and management processes.
• Ensure platform stability and performance by proactively monitoring system metrics, troubleshooting issues, and optimizing resources.
• Implement observability solutions, such as monitoring, logging, and tracing tools, to gain valuable insights into platform performance and application behavior.
• Provide technical guidance and support to development teams, helping them adopt the Kubernetes platform and improve their application deployment and management capabilities.
• Collaborate with developers, architects, and project managers to ensure that solutions are delivered on time, within budget, and meet business requirements.
• Stay current with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies related to Kubernetes, containerization, and observability to drive continuous improvement and innovation within the platform.

• At least 7+ years of experience in OpenShift engineering including some public cloud experience.
• Experience in platform engineering, infrastructure automation, SRE, or a similar role.
• Understanding of Kubernetes architecture, concepts, and components, with hands-on experience in building and managing Kubernetes platforms in production environments.
• Proficiency in a procedural or scripting programming language (examples: python, Go).
• Experienced with Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery principles (examples: Github Actions, Concourse, ArgoCD, Jenkins).
• Experience designing and deploying containerized applications on Kubernetes.
• Experience with automation tools, such as Helm, Terraform, Ansible and Azure DevOps.
• Understanding of security and compliance best practices.
• Familiarity with observability best practices and tools, such as Prometheus, Grafana, or ELK Stack.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
• Kubernetes certifications are desirable (e.g. Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA) or Certified Kubernetes Application Developer (CKAD)).

• TAS (Tanzu Application Service), Pivotal Cloud Foundry, AKS, NSX, NSX-T experience a plus
• Automation/Continuous Integration (concourse, Salt, Fabric, Jenkins, Octopus Deploy, etc.)
• Demonstrated competency in a programming/scripting Language, with a strong preference for Go experience and Python.
• Experience designing and implementing Infrastructure as code API's using interface definition tools like Swagger
• Strong understanding of Virtual computing environments and concepts such as Hypervisors and load balancing concepts.
• Demonstrated understanding of, And preferably hands-on experience, with Identity management, Access Management, Certificate management.
• Experience designing and implementing containerized infrastructure logging and observability tools such as Splunk, Fluentd/Fluentbit, Prometheus/Grafana/Alert manager Suite, Wavefront, APPD.
• Experience with .net core and .net framework
• Experience with Open policy Agents or other policy engines.
