Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement sourcing/pricing strategies for materials quotations.
  • Present material value-add to customers or suppliers and influence them to use preferred suppliers.
  • Interface with customers or suppliers during new project start-ups to address cost of ownership issues.
  • Develop and guide implementation of flexibility and supply assurance plans.
  • Manage component costs/prices on a local, regional and global basis.
  • Track material financial performance and initiate corrective actions when necessary.
  • Define and implement pricing and costing strategies.
  • C coordinate sourcing strategies with Supply Management and Customers.
  • Develop and implement cost take down strategies.
  • Enhance Vendor Managed Inventory, Reduce Guide-Time and Electronic Data Interface penetration.
Specialized Job Controls:Supply Management:
  • Negotiate regional supplier contracts, which include Memorandums of Comprehension, Non-disclosure and regional pricing agreements.
  • Maintain supplier relationships.
  • Measure and report Purchase Price Variance and initiate action plans.
  • Monitor and manage supplier lead times.
  • Mitigate shortages, excess on order and excess on hand.
  • Participate in and contribute information/data to global and regional commodity teams.
  • Provide quarterly scorecards on top spend suppliers.
Customer Supply Chain Management:
  • Conduct material cost reviews.
  • Drive initiatives to improve gross material margin.
  • Identify, implement and drive actions for Retained Purchase Price Variance (RPPV) optimization.
  • Facilitate reconciliation processes with customers (PPV, Premium charges, carrying costs, freight charges, excess and obsolete inventory, NCNR, etc).
  • Identify opportunities to increase turnkey business and develop materials management plans.
  • Cordinate quarterly/monthly PPV hard call processes.
Requirements:
  • A bachelor's degree or equivalent experience is typically required.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in finance, materials sourcing, commodity management or supply chain design/management or other related areas is typically required.
  • An understanding of cost accounting, electronic component markets, price trends and technologies is essential.
  • A background in electronics manufacturing and a thorough understanding of Original Equipment Manufacturing (OEM) product development process are required.
