Electrical Power Systems Engineer

As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for the development of high-voltage battery systems. Your role will involve leading the design and implementation of power electronics circuits, ensuring seamless integration with mechanical, thermal, and systems engineering teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop High-Voltage Battery Systems: Develop high-voltage (400V–800V) battery systems, including DC-DC converters, onboard chargers (OBC), inverters, and battery management interfaces.
  • Define System Architecture: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define system architecture and component specifications for high-voltage battery systems.
  • Collaborate with Cross-Functional Teams: Work closely with mechanical, thermal, and systems engineering teams to ensure smooth integration of electrical power systems.
  • Oversee Simulation and Analysis: Oversee simulation, modeling, and analysis of power electronics circuits using tools like PLECS, MATLAB/Simulink, or LTspice.
  • Guide PCB Layout: Guide PCB layout for high-power designs, ensuring EMI/EMC compliance and thermal management.
  • Drive Validation and Testing: Drive validation and testing of prototypes in lab and vehicle environments.
  • Evaluate and Select Components: Evaluate and select components such as IGBTs, SiC/GaN FETs, gate drivers, magnetics, and capacitors.
  • Ensure Compliance: Ensure compliance with automotive standards such as ISO 26262, AEC-Q100, and functional safety.
  • Mentor Junior Engineers: Mentor junior engineers and contribute to technical reviews and design documentation.
  • Act as Point of Authority: Act as the point of authority for complex engineering problems.
  • Document Requirements: Document system requirements and specifications in a traceable way, generating test cases for smooth validation of features.

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Possess Passion for Complex Power Electronics: Possess genuine interest in understanding how complex power electronic systems work together with teams to achieve high levels of functionality.
  • Agile Method Experience: Experienced with Agile methods and toolsets such as JIRA, SCRUM, KANBAN etc.
  • Vehicle System Interface Expertise: Expertise regarding vehicle system interfaces and integration for distributed features onboard.
  • Extensive HV Product Development Experience: Extensive experience into HV product development for EV, system engineering, and knowledge of product development life cycle.
  • Excellent Leadership Skills: Excellent leadership, initiative, and drive to success.
  • Electrical Engineering Degree: Degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or equivalent discipline.
