Key Responsibilities

The Team Lead in the Subtitling Coordination team oversees people management, growth, and development. This includes scheduling work, team utilization, performance monitoring, and project tracking.

Core responsibilities include:

  • Leading and supervising Localization Coordinators within their span of control.
  • Setting clear objectives and ensuring each team member aligns with the team's vision.
  • Communicating expectations, goals, and feedback to the group regularly and resolving any concerns or issues proactively.
  • Liaising and collaborating with the Translator Support team to report linguist pool health and plan for capacity for rare languages.
  • Identifying and addressing conflicts early, facilitating discussions, and finding satisfactory solutions for all parties involved.
Team Management

The Team Lead is responsible for maintaining team morale, attrition, development, coaching, and working with team members to clearly communicate their performance, feedback if any, and development areas.

This involves conducting regular team meetings to discuss progress and plan future activities, as well as timely 1:1s with all coordinators in their span.

Business Continuity and Productivity

The Team Lead drives HR processes and policies within the team, backs up managers as needed on certain team responsibilities, and ensures the team meets all project deadlines and goals.

This includes generating reports on the team's performance, tracking KPIs and SLAs, working with the Assistant Manager to correct issues or negative trends if any, and ensuring internal reports are maintained and updated regularly.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To excel in this role, candidates must have a graduate degree and an excellent command of the English language.

Good time management skills, excellent problem-solving skills, and a keen interest in the media industry are also essential.
