We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented SQL Server Database Administrator (DBA) to join our team as a key member of our database operations team.

Job Description

The successful candidate will be responsible for the implementation, configuration, maintenance, and performance of critical SQL Server systems, ensuring the availability and consistent performance of our applications. This role requires strong proficiency in T-SQL, experience with high availability and disaster recovery solutions, and the ability to troubleshoot complex database issues.

Roles & Responsibilities:
  • Install, configure, and maintain SQL Server instances (on-premises and/or cloud).
  • Monitor database performance, implement changes, and apply new patches and versions when required.
  • Perform database backups, restores, and recovery.
  • Manage SQL Server security (authentication, permissions, roles).
  • Optimize SQL queries and indexes for better performance.
  • Troubleshoot database-related issues, including system outages and performance bottlenecks.
  • Implement High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) solutions.
  • Automate repetitive DBA tasks using T-SQL, PowerShell, or other tools.
  • Perform capacity planning and storage management.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation and SOPs.
Skills Required:

To be considered for this role, you must have:

  • Proven experience as a SQL Server DBA (SQL Server 2012/2016/2019/2022).
  • Strong proficiency in T-SQL and SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS).
  • Experience with backup, restore, and recovery models.
  • Knowledge of High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) options for SQL Server.
  • Experience with monitoring tools like SQL Profiler, Extended Events, and third-party solutions (e.g., SolarWinds, Redgate).
  • Familiarity with performance tuning and optimization (PTO).
  • Experience working with Azure SQL Database, SQL Managed Instance, or AWS RDS is a plus.
  • Strong communication and documentation skills.

A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience is preferred.
