Job Description:

Mechanical engineers at our solar project sites ensure that mechanical work is executed in line with approved engineering designs and industry standards. This role provides real-time design support for site-specific modifications in module mounting structures, trackers, and mechanical layouts, acting as a bridge between our Head Office Mechanical Design Team and Site Execution Team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review and interpret mechanical design drawings issued by HO (MMS, trackers, layout, fabrication drawings, assembly details).
  • Prepare/modify site-specific mechanical drawings when required (MMS foundation depth adjustments, structure alignment changes, fabrication detailing, anchoring).
  • Conduct wind load and structural stability checks for site-specific conditions.
  • Verify MMS foundation positions, tilt angles, and row spacing as per design.
  • Support fabrication, welding, and erection quality checks against approved standards.
  • Provide design clarifications/modifications at site and coordinate with HO for approvals.
  • Issue red-marked drawings/as-built drawings after execution.
  • Coordinate with civil and electrical teams to resolve interdisciplinary design issues.
  • Support site teams in resolving mechanical erection bottlenecks (torque requirements, alignment, module clamping).
  • Maintain proper documentation of design revisions, approvals, and as-built records.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

We are looking for professionals with strong knowledge of MMS, trackers, and steel structures used in solar projects. The ideal candidate will have proficiency in AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar design/drafting tools and a solid understanding of IS/IEC codes, wind load standards, welding/fabrication practices. A bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering is mandatory, and 5-8 years of experience in mechanical design and site execution (solar/renewable/industrial projects preferred) is highly desirable.
