Job Title: Steel Industry Operations Manager

Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Steel Industry Operations Manager to oversee the day-to-day plant production operations, ensuring adherence to production schedules, output targets, and quality standards. This is a critical role that requires strong leadership skills, strategic thinking, and excellent communication abilities.

The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating with multiple steel mills for raw material planning, timely supply, and alignment of production requirements across facilities. They will also monitor production processes, identify bottlenecks, and implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity, reduce downtime, and control costs.

Additionally, the Operations Manager will ensure compliance with metallurgical standards, specifications, and customer requirements, working closely with quality control teams. They will lead, mentor, and manage production teams, fostering a culture of accountability, safety, and high performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee day-to-day plant production operations, ensuring adherence to production schedules, output targets, and quality standards.
  • Coordination with Steel Mills: Liaise with multiple steel mills for raw material planning, timely supply, and alignment of production requirements across facilities.
  • Process Optimization: Monitor production processes, identify bottlenecks, and implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity, reduce downtime, and control costs.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure compliance with metallurgical standards, specifications, and customer requirements, working closely with quality control teams.
  • Workforce & Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and manage production teams, fostering a culture of accountability, safety, and high performance.
  • Safety & Compliance: Enforce strict adherence to EHS (Environment, Health & Safety) norms, statutory requirements, and industry best practices.
Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Experience in rolling mill processes.
  • Experience with steel melting.
  • Experience in handling multi-plant operations.
