Job Title: Equity Research Analyst

Job Description

We are seeking an exceptional Equity Research Analyst to join our team.

  • The ideal candidate will build and update complex financial models with scenario analysis, incorporating both qualitative and quantitative research.
  • A thorough understanding of valuation methods, including DCF, relative, SOTP, and other relevant techniques is essential.
  • The successful analyst will develop accurate assumptions and valuations with clear rationale, leveraging their analytical skills to drive informed investment decisions.
  • This role involves screening large datasets to identify potential investment opportunities and supporting Portfolio Managers/Chief Investment Officers in their decision-making processes.
  • The analyst will engage in regular discussions with Portfolio Managers/Chief Investment Officers on investment ideas and stock updates.
  • Earnings reviews, previews, conference calls, and management meetings require meticulous preparation, including writing compelling pitch notes/presentations and industry/thematic notes.
  • Database maintenance, news collection and analysis, as well as handling ad-hoc research requests, are all integral components of this role.
Required Skills and Qualifications

The successful candidate will possess:

  • Exceptional financial modeling and report-writing/presentation-making skills.
  • The ability to think critically, identifying drivers and KPIs across various sectors.
  • Strong client relationship management and communication skills.
  • An attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple workflows under tight deadlines.
  • Numerical skills.
  • The capacity to build complex, error-free models with well-defined revenue/cost driver assumptions.
  • The capability to carry out earnings sensitivity analysis.
  • The ability to provide valuation views after conducting relative, DCF-based or industry-appropriate valuations.
  • Writing skills.
  • The ability to write in a logical and structured manner that minimizes rework.
  • Experience with technologies such as Python, SQL, Power BI is advantageous but not required.
