Employment Law Specialist

This is an exciting opportunity to join a top-tier law firm's highly regarded Employment Law practice in India.

As an experienced Employment Law specialist, you will be responsible for advising domestic and multinational clients on complex employment law matters, including compliance, advisory, investigations, and contentious issues.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing expert advice on employment contracts, HR policies, compensation structures, and termination matters.
  • Handling industrial disputes, disciplinary proceedings, and employee misconduct.
  • Assisting with POOSH compliance and internal investigations.
  • Conducting labour law audits and due diligence for M&A transactions.
  • Structuring workforces, transfers, and retrenchment strategies.
  • Representing clients before labour authorities, tribunals, and other forums as necessary.
  • Drafting and negotiating employment-related documentation and settlement agreements.
  • Staying up-to-date with developments in Indian employment law and contributing to knowledge management initiatives.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams, including litigation, corporate, and compliance teams.
  • Supervising and mentoring junior associates in the practice.

Candidates should possess:

  • A strong LL.B. from a reputable Indian law school.
  • 7-12 years of post-qualification experience, preferably with a top-tier law firm or leading in-house legal department.
  • Excellent command of Indian labour laws, industrial regulations, and case law developments.
  • Strong legal drafting, research, and analytical skills.
  • Experience in handling sensitive investigations and employment litigation is preferred.
  • A business-oriented mindset with excellent client-handling skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple assignments independently and under deadlines.
  • A collaborative working style.
