Senior Civil Project Manager

A leading steel industry seeks a highly experienced civil project manager to oversee the execution of complex civil works. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that all projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.

The ideal candidate should have at least 8 years of experience in greenfield projects with a focus on civil construction. Experience in steel plants, iron making or rolling mills is also desirable. He/She must have excellent leadership and management skills, with the ability to coordinate multiple tasks and teams simultaneously.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Planning and Execution: Develop detailed project plans, schedules, and budgets for all civil works. Resource allocation, including manpower, materials, and equipment.
  • Site Supervision: Direct and supervise all on-site civil construction activities. Monitor the progress of work, ensure adherence to quality standards and safety protocols, and resolve any technical issues that arise during construction.
  • Quality Assurance: Implement and maintain a rigorous quality control system to ensure all civil works meet project specifications and industry standards.
  • Safety Management: Enforce strict safety regulations on the construction site. Conduct safety briefings, identify potential hazards, and ensure that all workers comply with safety procedures.
  • Budget and Cost Control: Manage the project budget for all civil works. Track expenses, prepare cost reports, and identify potential cost-saving measures without compromising on quality or safety.
  • Contract Administration: Administer and manage contracts with various subcontractors and suppliers. Negotiate terms, monitor performance, and ensure that all contractual obligations are met.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Maintain comprehensive records of all project activities, including daily progress reports, site diaries, and quality and safety records.

Requirements:

  • BE/B.Tech Civil
  • At least 8 years of experience in greenfield projects
  • Excellent leadership and management skills
  • Ability to coordinate multiple tasks and teams simultaneously
  • Experience in steel plants, iron making or rolling mills is desirable
