Job Title:

Purchasing Manager

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversight of entire purchasing process, encompassing vendor confirmation, automatic PO issuance, expedited orders, vendor master data management, procurement expediting, and service contract creation.
  • Management of global procurement and sourcing from domestic suppliers.

Price Analysis:

  • Supplier pricing analysis to meet business requirements or report necessary adjustments to master files.

Supplier Coordination:

  • Ensure timely delivery of materials from suppliers.
  • Internal teams advised of delivery delays as soon as identified.

Purchase Requisition and Vendor Sourcing:

  • Review of purchase requisitions and identification of suitable sources for supply.
  • Utilization of e-sourcing tools for creation of service contracts and contract term management.

Negotiation:

  • Negotiation with suppliers on pricing, payment terms, and conditions to achieve cost savings for the business.

Team Leadership:

  • Leadership of a team of 7-10 members, providing guidance and support for efficient operations.

Reporting and Analysis:

  • Publication of weekly and monthly reports (SLA dashboards, MIS reports, PowerPoint presentations) and distribution to supervisor.
  • Collaboration with finance department to ensure timely payment processing, resolve invoice discrepancies, and maintain compliance with agreed terms.

Purchase Order Creation:

  • Creation and management of purchase orders in SAP for proper documentation and tracking.

Expediting Orders:

  • Expedition of orders as needed to ensure timely delivery of goods, services, and works.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher preferred.
  • Progressive experience in purchasing with exceptional communication and negotiation skills.
  • Experience with data analysis using enterprise procurement systems.
  • High-level proficiency in Microsoft Excel ideal.
  • Demonstrated track record of motivation and success.
  • Experience in laboratory settings or within Bio/Life Sciences industries preferred.
  • Background in Operations or Supply Chain Management a plus.
