Job Description

We are seeking an experienced VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for owning day-to-day operations and ensuring the steady-state reliability of the VCF stack.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of vSphere administration, including cluster design, HA/DRS, VM lifecycle, patching, and updates. They will also have practical experience with vSAN operations, including policy-based management, health, and performance troubleshooting.

In addition to these technical skills, the candidate will have a working knowledge of NSXT for day-to-day operations, including overlay/segments, basic routing concepts, distributed firewall rule creation/validation, and NAT. Experience with vROps / VMware Aria Operations for monitoring, alerting, capacity planning, and reporting is also essential.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Technical Skills:
    • vSphere administration: cluster design, HA/DRS, VM lifecycle, patching, and updates
    • vSAN operations: policy-based management, health, and performance troubleshooting
    • NSXT for day-to-day operations: overlay/segments, basic routing concepts, distributed firewall rule creation/validation, and NAT
    • vROps / VMware Aria Operations: monitoring, alerting, capacity planning, and reporting
  • Qualifications:
    • 4-7 years total experience in VMware virtualization and software-defined data center operations
    • 2+ years hands-on experience with vSphere & vSAN; 1-2 years with NSXT day-to-day operations
    • Prior experience operating vROps/Aria Operations in production
    • Certifications (preferred): VCPDCV (required or in progress), VCPNV (plus), VCAP (plus)
    • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science/IT or equivalent practical experience
