Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Dimensional Management Specialist to manage the end-to-end dimensional management process for body in white components and exterior trims during product development.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Develop measurement systems, locator strategies, and tolerance specifications for Body in White components and exterior trims aligned with styling and manufacturing requirements.

2. Ensure the robustness of measurement systems from part fabrication to complete Body in White.

3. Analyze functional requirements of Body in White and create measurement strategies for module fitment.

4. Discuss and align tolerance concepts with stakeholders.

5. Perform tolerance stack-up studies (1D, 2D, or 3D) during the development phase to identify potential risks in production and provide solutions in terms of measurement strategy, alignment strategy, tolerance specification, assembly sequence, or design.

6. Execute tolerance simulations in 3DCS to replicate the production process digitally, using correct probability distributions in relation to manufacturing processes, and validate the robustness of concepts.

7. Ensure quality and timelines of every delivery in projects.

8. Create gap and flush plans and concepts to ensure visual quality of vehicles.

9. Collaborate with cross-functional teams for incorporating feedback and providing solutions.

10. Develop and align sub-module integration concepts to ensure fitment and fulfill production planning requirements.

11. Develop and align closures integration concepts in line with gap and flush plans to fulfill requirements.

Qualifications:

1. Proficiency in 3D tolerance simulation tools, such as 3DCS.

2. In-depth understanding of GD&T and SPC.

3. Understanding of perceived quality.

4. Understanding of manufacturing processes in Body in White.

5. Understanding of assembly operations in automobiles.

6. Understanding of different measurement systems and inspection methods.

7. Working proficiency in NX software.
