Senior OpenShift Architect

We seek an expert Senior OpenShift Architect to design, deploy and manage large-scale OpenShift clusters.

  • Design and implement enterprise-grade RedHat OpenShift clusters.
  • Setup air-gapped OCP installations on HPE Synergy infrastructure.
  • Build four OCP clusters with three master nodes and N worker nodes each.
  • Develop high-level and low-level design documentation for OCP deployment.
  • Configure Multus CNI for external IP communication and Portworx CSI plugin for database nodes.

Security and Best Practices:

  • Apply CIS Security Hardening for Kubernetes and underlying nodes.
  • Implement role-based access control, image policies and Kubernetes security policies.
  • Setup Ingress controllers, API server configurations and HA Proxy load balancing with SSL and KeepAlive.

Networking and Infrastructure:

  • Configure DNS, DHCP and NTP for cluster networking.
  • Integrate Kubernetes clusters with network switches and SAN storage.
  • Implement SNMP alerting and monitoring.

Storage and Logging:

  • Setup Portworx for persistent storage.
  • Deploy and configure Container Registry.
  • Integrate Elasticsearch and Kibana for application logs.
  • Configure Rsyslog for node log forwarding and archival policies.

Monitoring and Observability:

  • Deploy Prometheus and Grafana dashboards for cluster resource monitoring.
  • Configure alerts for node, pod and persistent storage.
  • Ensure continuous monitoring of infrastructure and application workloads.

Cluster Administration and Operations:

  • Perform installation, upgrades and patching at node and Kubernetes level.
  • Manage backup and restore processes.
  • Validate cluster health via test deployments and functional checks.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Seven years of experience in Kubernetes, OpenShift and containerized environments.
  • Strong expertise in OCP cluster deployment.
  • Hands-on experience with HPE Synergy / Blade infrastructure.
  • Proficiency in Networking (DNS, DHCP, HA Proxy, NTP).
  • Experience with Storage solutions (Portworx, SAN integration).
  • Solid understanding of Monitoring tools (Prometheus, Grafana).
  • Expertise in Logging solutions (Rsyslog, Elasticsearch).
  • Strong knowledge of Kubernetes security and RBAC.
  • Experience with Container Registry management.
  • Familiarity with application deployment using Helm.
