Job Summary

We are seeking a Lease Accounting Associate to maintain and update lease accounting schedules, prepare and post journal entries, and coordinate with various teams. This role requires strong Excel skills, familiarity with ASC 842, and experience in accounting with exposure to lease accounting or real estate accounting.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain and update lease accounting schedules in compliance with ASC 842 principles.
  • Prepare and post journal entries related to lease liabilities and right-of-use assets.
  • Assist with the monthly close process and account reconciliations.
  • Coordinate with Real Estate, Legal, and Accounts Payable teams.
  • Monitor critical lease dates and ensure timely updates.

Required Skills & Experience:
  • 1-3 years of experience in accounting, preferably with exposure to lease accounting or real estate accounting.
  • Familiarity with ASC 842 and lease accounting principles.
  • Strong Excel skills and comfort working with large data sets.
  • Familiarity with lease accounting software like Yardi, CoStar, or Lucernex.
