Software QA Engineer Job Overview

We're seeking a detail-oriented Software QA Engineer to join our team and contribute to delivering high-quality products.

Job Description

In this role, you will be primarily responsible for testing our products from new feature releases to ongoing enhancements, ensuring they meet digital accessibility standards. This includes proactively identifying potential failure points through various data models, championing test automation where possible, and acting as the ultimate gatekeeper before any feature goes live.

You will work closely with developers, product managers, support teams, and other functional team members to understand requirements and determine the scope of testing. Your collaboration with different functional groups will help identify gaps, prioritize, and resolve issues.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related fields
  • 3-4 years of experience working and testing software applications
  • Basic knowledge of HTML, ARIA, REST API, CSS, and JavaScript, as well as browser behavior
  • Good understanding of white/black box testing, smoke testing, sanity testing, and regression testing
  • Experience working with trackers such as Jira/Sentry/Redmine/Bugzilla/etc.
  • Ability to find the root cause of open production support tickets quickly
  • Debugging skills, able to convey and explain bug causes as a subject matter expert
  • Ability to influence the development team to fix backlog bugs by clearly articulating the problem
