Job Opportunity: Senior Risk Management Leader

The Wholesale Risk Model Development Team requires a highly skilled Senior Risk Management Leader to lead the development of wholesale risk models and collaborate with the Head of Risk Analytics and Capital Management in implementing risk governance and best practices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Leadership: Establish and scale a Centre of Excellence for Wholesale Rating Models from scratch, provide thought leadership, and contribute to the development of industry standards in model development and validation.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Prepare presentations, communicate effectively with senior management and board committees, engage with multiple stakeholders across the credit lifecycle, review financial spreading logic, and ensure governance and audit readiness.
  • Technical Delivery: Design and implement end-to-end processes for development, validation, and lifecycle management of wholesale rating models, develop and validate various models, explore new approaches for rating model development, and master rating scale calibration.
  • People Management: Build, mentor, and lead a team of modelers and consultants, drive capability building and continuous learning within the team, and foster a culture of excellence.
  • Model Monitoring: Outline goals, determine expected performance, implement monitoring tools, continuously assess model performance, communicate results to stakeholders, and regularly review and improve the model performance process.
  • Climate Risk Analytics: Develop statistical climate risk models, integrate economic and social data, develop climate scenarios, assess potential impacts, develop adaptation strategies, establish a system for continuous monitoring, and involve stakeholders in the decision-making process.

Requirements:

  • A strong foundation in Statistics and Mathematics, hands-on experience in developing and validating wholesale rating models, and a deep understanding of model lifecycle best practices.
  • Strong programming skills, proficient in data analysis and visualization using Excel and PowerPoint, and knowledge of other relevant tools or platforms.
  • A degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Quantitative Finance, Economics, Engineering, or a related field.
  • A passion for risk management and advancing the science of credit risk modeling, excellent communication skills, fluency in English, and the ability to convey complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
