Cloud Migration Engineer

About the Role:

We are seeking a seasoned data migration professional to join our team. This individual will be responsible for designing, developing and deploying scalable data pipelines for migrating data from on-premise sources to cloud platforms.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Data Pipeline Development: Design and develop efficient data pipelines for large-scale cloud migration projects.
  • Technical Expertise: Serve as a subject matter expert in core technologies including Datastage, Azure Data Factory (ADF), Databricks, and PySpark.
  • Solution Design: Collaborate with architects and technical leads to design effective cloud migration strategies and data transformation solutions.
  • Code Quality: Ensure delivery of high-quality, well-documented code and participate in code reviews.
  • Performance Optimization: Analyze and optimize data pipeline performance to ensure efficiency and scalability.
  • Problem-Solving: Troubleshoot complex technical issues related to data migration and system performance.
  • Mentorship: Provide guidance and technical support to junior engineers.

Required Skills:

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in data engineering and ETL development.
  • Extensive hands-on experience with Datastage and Azure Data Factory.
  • In-depth knowledge of Databricks and PySpark.
  • Strong understanding of cloud platforms, preferably Microsoft Azure.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
