High-Performance Computing Systems Expert

We are seeking a highly skilled HPC Administrator to join our team. This role will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of HPC clusters, including user account management, creation and maintenance of Amazon Machine Image images, installation and configuration of Linux operating systems, and troubleshooting system issues.
Key Responsibilities:- Cluster Administration: Manage HPC and Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) clusters, including user onboarding and offboarding processes.
- AMI Management: Create and maintain Amazon Machine Image (AMI) images in AMI accounts, ensuring compliance with organizational standards.
- Linux Operating System: Install, configure, and maintain Linux operating systems on HPC clusters, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.
- Component Support: Provide support for HPC components and native services, coordinating with respective providers, including EFPORTAL, AWS RES, CYCLECLOUD, and AWS PARALLEL CLUSTER.
- AWS Active Directory: Manage AWS managed active directory support and ensure proper configuration and security.
- Platform Upgrades: Continuously upgrade the HPC platform and related components, including OS, Java, Python, and other dependencies, ensuring seamless integration and minimal downtime.
- Compliance Controls: Implement and maintain necessary compliance controls, such as US export control and confidentiality, conducting regular audits, sharing findings, and implementing corrective actions as required.
- Cross-Functional Coordination: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including V-Drive Team, in testing and migrating/installing engineering applications to the platform.
- Job Scheduler Management: Manage job schedulers, including SLURM or LSF, ensuring efficient resource allocation and task execution.
- Node Provisioning: Utilize node provisioning tools, such as WEREWOLF, to optimize cluster resources and improve overall performance.
- Troubleshooting: Troubleshoot system issues, providing technical support to users and resolving problems efficiently.
- Performance Monitoring: Monitor system performance, ensuring optimal operation of the HPC environment and identifying areas for improvement.
- Strong Technical Skills: Proven expertise in HPC administration, Linux operating systems, and cloud computing environments.
