Brand Development Director Job Description

As the Brand Development Director, you will be responsible for creating and executing distinctive brand identities. You will shape how markets perceive and embrace these global institutions, ensuring that every touchpoint reflects academic excellence and aspirational value.

The ideal candidate will have 10-12 years of experience in brand, marketing, or creative leadership roles, ideally in education, youth brands, or omni-channel brands targeting GenZ audiences. They will possess demonstrated success in building and launching new brands, driving large-scale impact through influencer campaigns, and managing cross-platform campaigns. Exceptional creative judgment, stakeholder leadership, and strategic thinking skills are essential.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Brand Strategy & Development: Develop a composite brand strategy that balances global equity with unique positioning in target markets. Build a scalable brand architecture that supports multiple programs, partnerships, and audiences.
  • Influencer Marketing: Design and manage large-scale influencer marketing campaigns with high-authority influencers, education YouTubers, and subject-matter influencers. Build a network to amplify brand stories.
  • Marketing & Media Planning: Lead campaigns to drive mass awareness and reputation building. Plan and execute activations, including events, influencer-led meetups, and community-based outreach.
  • Digital Experience: Oversee the planning and creation of a flagship brand destination website. Develop a digital content strategy that brings alive mission statements, student stories, faculty expertise, and program outcomes.
  • Digital Campaigns: Conceptualize and execute digital-first brand campaigns across platforms like YouTube, Meta, and others. Lead campaign planning and messaging for paid digital media.
  • Content Marketing: Build and lead the content marketing strategy to engage prospects and build brand equity over time. Develop high-impact content formats: blogs, articles, newsletters, and thought leadership pieces.
  • Creative/Content Production & Agency Management: Own production of all brand assets – video, copy, design, motion, and physical collateral. Identify and onboard agencies to support brand development and execution.
  • Brand Impact Measurement & Insights: Define KPIs and establish tracking mechanisms to assess brand equity, recall, and sentiment. Commission research to track awareness, recall, consideration, preference, and Net Promoter Score (NPS).
  • Internal Brand Alignment: Drive internal brand onboarding for teams, ensuring cultural alignment and brand advocacy. Equip departments with toolkits and training to live and represent the brand consistently.
